President's Letter

Intelligence is the Torch of Wisdom

Greetings Sorors and Friends,

I bring you greetings from the Epsilon Psi Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. As president of the Epsilon Psi Chapter, I would like to thank you for visiting our website. With a strong heritage of scholarship, service, and sisterhood, Epsilon Psi remains committed to dedicating our lives to upholding the values set forth by our 22 illustrious founders. During an era in which avenues of post secondary education were limited for black women, women were not allowed to vote, and women were expected to be seen and not heard, these women took a stand for the rights of all women. No longer waiting for opportunity and remaining in the shadows, in 1913 Delta Women decided enough was enough and it was time to actually make a difference by implementing strategies for the betterment of the entire black community. The vision of these women has influenced over 250,000 members acting in over 900 chapters throughout the world. The Delta legacy continues!

In its humble beginning, 12 dynamic divas saw a void in opportunities for black women on the University of Missouri campus and chartered the Elegant and Exquisite Epsilon Psi Chapter. From babysitting in churches, teaching Sunday school classes in hospitals, and holding events for the mentally impaired to now holding clothing and toy drives collecting hundreds of items, welcoming new students to the university in a Freshman Week, and hosting a scholarship graduation for minorities in Columbia, Epsilon Psi remains committed to community outreach. With an average chapter grade point average of 3.0, countless hours of community service, and a loving sisterhood, Epsilon Psi continuously serves as a positive representation our founders, charter members, and sorors nationwide.

Under the national leadership of Dr. Cynthia Butler-McIntyre and regional direction of Sandra Lucado, Epsilon Psi remains committed to the values of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc and will continue to bring innovative programming and dedicated service to our entire community. Thank you for visiting our website, and we welcome you to attend the numerous events we have throughout the year.

Thank you for visiting,

Alisha M. Glover, President
